I have a confession to make...
I've been stealing...
Sorry friends but I needed your pictures!
If you don't see yourself in the video, I'm so sorry. It's makes me so sad to say that I either don't have a photo of you or couldn't steal them from your site (Pam, I tried forever to steal your photos!). I will try to make it up to you!
Consider this Part 1 of my Friend Project...The Gift of a Friend.
Sit back and "meet" some of my most wonderful friends ~
And remember, since I feel like the Lord blessed me abundantly with friends, there will be more to come. Stay tuned and you will definitely get to meet Pam!

Prayer
This week is just incredibly insane! I have something going on every single morning, afternoon, and evening until Friday afternoon when I will head out to the Hearts at Home Conference. It's just incredibly crazy!
Can you please pray for me as I have really been struggling with anxiety? I think it's just the weather and the schedule (and maybe some inner ear issue?) but I can't seem to shake it and am finding myself having anxiety about the anxiety. sigh!
Thank you so much for your prayers regarding Management and his deadlines. It was a fundraising/financial deadline and the Lord has allowed us to move ahead without a significant pay-cut at this time. We are still in prayer over this but are so thankful for a good report today!
And to end on a lighter note...HomeAudio has decided that before he marries a woman he will have just two questions for her...do you believe in Jesus? are you allergic to cats or dogs?
nice.

Tang Soo Do
HomeAudio started Tang Soo Do this past week and absolutely loves it! There is a local church that offers the class twice a week for a very low price. It is a relatively small class mixed with adults and kids and led by an older man who is very experienced and very authoritative. It's so nice for HomeAudio to have something apart from church/school and to have an outlet with all new people and friends. I think this is going to be a very good thing for him! They also have to learn Scripture as part of their belt-testing (obviously I don't know the lingo yet) and he is learning some Korean also.
WeeklyAd begins rehearsals for Christmas Spectacular next weekend. We had to sign a contract and include any rehearsals that we might miss. Once the contract is signed, if you miss any rehearsal without a doctors note then it is grounds for dismissal. yikes! I am glad though that they take the show so seriously and know that it is a very high quality performance and she will be getting some very good training through this experience.
JJ and I are adjusting well too. She is so adorable and just a little peanut. She is very good at sign language and so I have had a few good laughs at myself as I try to figure out what she wants. One day I thought she had bumped her elbow and I spent some time rubbing it and consoling her only later to find out that rubbing one's elbow meant "cookie" or "cracker". Poor baby wanted a cookie and got some crazy lady hugging on her instead.
gotta run and help WeeklyAd with a school project...this fall has just been insane!

Christmas Already?
I'm so excited for WeeklyAd ~ she went to an open audition for a Christmas Spectacular Show that is performed at our Village Theater. There were about 250 dancers that auditioned so I was a little nervous for her and hoped that her first experience wouldn't be too traumatic for her. She had a great attitude and I was so proud of her! We found out today that she made it into the show!! I'm so excited for her!

Taco Salad 2
I recently watched a program called I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant where a woman thought she had food poisoning and went into the hospital only to deliver a baby that she didn't even know was growing inside of her.
That is NOT what happened next in my story! I knew that I was pregnant! 30 weeks pregnant in fact and as we pulled into the hospital around 7:00 that morning, I started to wonder if maybe I was in pre-term labor.
I was not in labor! That is NOT what happened next either. Though it is pretty close.
What happened next was a very long day of medications, observations, tests, phone calls, and finally a diagnosis.
It was not food poisoning!
However, I took little joy in knowing that I had cooked a successful and delicious meal. After the 100th time of telling the 100th person at the hospital when and what the last thing I had eaten was, I didn't want to see Taco Salad again for as long as I lived.
The diagnosis was H.E.L.L.P.Syndrome. You remember me mentioning this before. The pain was from my liver and the only cure was to deliver the baby.
At 9:38pm (a mere 14 hours after arrival at the hospital), on September 14th, my firstborn baby boy was delivered via emergency c-section and weighed in at 2 lb. 11 oz. What a gift he was and is to our family!
Getting his first bottle from daddy around 4 weeks of age~

Finally getting ready to go home at 9 weeks~

And remember the best friend (pictured here with HomeAudio when he was about 6 weeks old) that I mentioned almost poisoning with hot glue? While I was giving birth (unbeknownst to her) she was getting engaged to the man of her dreams. What a night to remember!
And here we are 10 years later....I love this boy so much!

I can not even begin to imagine life without him! I cherish him and am honored to be his mom. Words just can not express the JOY I have experienced and how much I have GROWN over the last 10 years. I love living LIFE with HomeAudio. We've had chances to explore, to laugh, to cry, to grow, to seek God, to share in His goodness, to be a family...and to celebrate one another.

Happy Birthday HomeAudio!

Taco Salad
Most of you know that I am not a very good cook. Though I don't enjoy cooking, I do occasionally get a strong desire to give it a whirl. I need to stop having those strong desires because seriously, the whirl comes and goes and I'm just left with a disaster! Really! Just ask my best friend who graciously ate my steel cut oats that had been contaminated with hot glue. I love that girl (only a best friend would scoop glue out of their oatmeal and tell you it was still good) and I feel terrible for almost poisoning her and her unborn baby! But that is just another long disastrous story along with my burnt (store bought frozen) quiche for a baby shower, my shattered platter that ended in stitches, my runny no bake cookies that I had to serve with a spoon at the Christmas Cookie Exchange....and on it goes. Seriously friends, the oven and I are not friends.
But 10 years ago I was actually successful at preparing a delicious Taco Salad. A co-worker brought the salad into work and it was so utterly delicious that I made her sit down right then and there and give me the recipe. It looked easy enough so I decided to give it a try. It had mild jalapenos and olives and onions and cheese and sour cream and some other things as well. It was a bit of a complicated recipe (well more so than my other concoction which consisted of brown meat and crushed dorritos). This was a real Taco Salad. And it came out beautifully! I was so proud of myself and Management loved it too.
Imagine my surprise (not really) when I woke up later that night with terrible cramping and pain. I laid in bed trying to fight off the nausea and trying to find a position that would ease the pain as I chastised myself over and over. I couldn't believe that I had given myself food poisoning!!
Several hours later, after a few trips to the bathroom and a couple attempts at waking up Management to see how he was feeling, I decided to call my mom. It was about 4:30 in the morning and my dad answered. My mom was out of town that night and as he listened to me he suggested maybe I should go in to the hospital. The pain was just that bad.
I hung up the phone and went towake up Management shave my legs. I could not go to the hospital with those legs! Once that was finished, I drug myself upstairs, drug my husband out of bed (seriously, I love the guy but he is NOT a morning person let alone an in the middle of the night we have to go to the hospital person), and headed to the car.
Well it's a good thing that I shaved my legs because I was not expecting what happened next.....

Updates
~ I've really enjoyed being on the Regent Board so far (the Regent Board is kind of like the school board for lack of a better term I guess). Within the Regent Board we have sub-committees and I am Co-Chair of the Communications sub-committee which means more meetings and more brainstorming, but I like it. We have a great Board that seems eager to be involved and further the mission of the school. Exciting times!
~ I'm going to be facilitating a Bible Discussion on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays for our Mom's group at church. I'm super nervous but very excited also.
~ HomeAudio and WeeklyAd have had a very good yet hard first few days. They love their teachers, have friends in their classes, etc. but we have set some new rules for the year and they are going to take some time to adjust to them. I figured there would be some push-back from them but other than nearly dropping off my 4th grader in the Pre-school room due to a tantrum yesterday morning (don't kids who throw tantrums belong in pre-school?), it hasn't been quite as traumatic as I thought it was going to be.
~ The above mentioned tantrum was due to HomeAudio not being able to wiggle his toes in his shoes (and probably some lack of sleep thrown in there too -see below). These were brand new shoes, mind you, and also a 1/2 size too big. Hence the fight and tantrum. I finally realized that the poor child has lived in flip-flops all summer and his toes simply were used to wiggling whenever they so desired. After calmly explaining to him that he was simply going to have to get used to it, and exchanging the shoes for a pair of his liking, all was well this morning when he walked out the door. ay,ay,ay.
~ HomeAudio has also been waking up again during the night. It is not uncommon for him to be up 3-5 times a night and sleeps very restlessly. I can't imagine that he is getting nearly enough rest or will be able to fully function at school if this continues. I'm not quite sure what to do about this but we are working on it.
~ Today is my first day with the new little one. I have decided to call her JJ because she loves to jibber-jabber all day long. She is extremely adorable and b.u.s.y. and just a little peanut. She has a much different temperament than LittleMiss but I think we will get along swimmingly.
~ Management's big deadline is today and he has been feverishly working day and night on the computer. Please pray for us today and tomorrow if you don't mind and pray that the Lord moves in miraculous ways!

Walking
I am still thinking about different ideas for sharing my friends with you. I have also really enjoyed reading your comments and the ways that God has given to you abundantly. What an encouragement! And for those of you who have read the post and not commented, I would still love to hear from you!
It's been a long, yet productive week and though I have plenty to share with you (life is never dull is it?), Management is home and has a very strict deadline he is working on and has pretty much claimed the computer all hours of the day and night.
If you wouldn't mind praying for us and this major deadline, I would appreciate it.
Back to my friends....like I said, I'm slowly thinking of some of ideas.
For now, I would like to introduce you to my walking buddies...Melissa and Carla (LittleMiss's mom). These lovely ladies and I have tried to walk at least 2-3 miles every night throughout the summer. Some nights (without kids) were much better than others (with kids)! We had some great chats along the way, shared in the adventures of motherhood, and encouraged each other with healthy eating and discipline. It's easy to want to walk when it is really just an excuse to hang out with your friends!
